Tahir Karmali (b. Nairobi, Kenya) is a visual artist based in Brooklyn NY. His research based practice centers around the history and context of each chosen material, yielding deceptively attractive forms – sculpture, installation, prints, textile – luring the viewer into a deeper dialogue about the trauma of migration, displacement, and labor.
